Children are as restless and energetic as possible! Admittedly it does take a lot (of bribes and chocolates) to get them sitting still for a photo shoot. But the main aspect of photographing children is to capture their energy and happiness, without any conventional thoughts. The photographer must keep the below points in mind to be an effective professional:
- Patience is the key for a rewarding photo shoot. Children might not be ready the first time, but slowly they relax and you get to do our work well.
- Always make them feel comfortable. Try using a child-friendly interior theme for your studio so that they won’t be intimidated by the lights and camera.
- Focus on making them smile. A sad and tearful toddler wouldn’t look half as good as a cheerful one.
- Be attentive for your chance and quick to utilize the moment.
- Let them play and move around things. The normal rules of photography don’t really apply to kids.
- Give them the freedom to have fun and optionally treat them to a chocolate or toy after you finish clicking pictures.
