Group photos are different as compared to individual portraits, much more difficult with several people and expressions to handle. But with our simple tips, you don’t have to worry about your photo being unsatisfactory again!
- The main issue about group portraits is that it is difficult to get everyone with a proper expression at the same time. Be alert and watch your timing.
- Brief the people about the way you want the picture to come out before you shoot. They would cooperate better if they understand the theme of the photo.
- Try to be imaginative and creative with your photos. Base your photos on the present occasion and try out various postures and settings.
- Select an appropriate location for the shoot, which has some connection to the situation and people posing for it.
- Don’t take too long. People get impatient when they are made to wait, and it ultimately ruins the mood of the photo. Make sure you gather everyone on time and finish within a short period.
- Also, don’t just rely on a single photo just because we asked you to hurry up. Take multiple shots, because eventually you will have to pick the best from those, which has all the members in sync and everything in place.
- Make sure you don’t miss out people, or get some people into the dark with their face being barely visible, because when it is a group photo everyone in the group has to be clear. Adjust your light settings accordingly, or try taking shots from a greater height.
- Most importantly, adjust your members in a line so that no one gets covered or overshadowed, with the shortest in front.
