The most likeable background for a product image is a plain white backdrop. It’s fine for everything, but when it comes to photographing a white colored product against a white background, the process gets complex as the background nor the product should be over exposed. One of the most important points is to ensure clear boundaries; it is often very confusing to distinguish the borders of the product from the backdrop is the image is fuzzy and isn’t edited properly. Such type of photography with very low contrast is known as High Key Photography, and it is actually quite simple only if the light settings are accurate.
The concealed trick is to slightly underexpose the product, so that it can be clearly seen across the shiny plain white backdrop. The structure and outline of the product can be clarified by its shadow, in case of a plain drop down shadow, giving it a natural look. This might not turn out perfect in the first go, but it gets improved by experimenting with lighting effects, background setup and camera angles.
