Apparel products need to be handled carefully for photography. Sizing, color, texture and neatness play a major role in inviting the customer to buy your product. There are some common mistakes that retailers make while shooting apparel, and this might go on to give a bad look to the final photo.
- Not checking for cuts and tears while planning to photograph the product.
- Not steaming and ironing the product before putting it on the model or mannequin for shooting.
- Not letting sufficient light fall on the product or putting the product too near the light.
- Not aligning the product images consistently
- Not ensuring same size for all the images to be posted
- Not using soft diffused lighting and letting the shadows overwhelm the product instead.
- Not providing enough pictures focusing on details like embroidery, stitching etc.
Apart from these, retailers could also take the extra efforts to use high quality wigs on mannequins, or to pair dresses up with matching accessories.
